HDI-Gerling

A merger of the two top insurance entities on the German market – HDI and Gerling – gave rise to the name, which personifies the synergy of their first class know-how and many years of experience in the German and foreign markets. In 2006 under the name HDI-Gerling, the two life insurance groups merged (HDI-Gerling Lebensversicherung AG, based in Cologne), about a year later they were followed by the fusion of the non-life insurers (HDI-Gerling Sach Serviceholding AGversicherungsgruppe, based in Hannover). Both steps were the result of natural development after Talanx took over the financially exhausted Gerling-Konzern in 2005.

HDI-Gerling, in keeping with its slogan "We think ahead", is orientated towards long-term support for innovations in the insurance sector and their application in the search for new individual solutions for its private and corporate customers.

HDI-Gerling follows its international clients in their global operations and serves them directly in the countries of their business activities. Through its subsidiary companies and branches, HDI-Gerling is directly represented in 29 nations of the world, in addition, for multi-national companies in the industrial sector, it makes available a partnership network with the RSA insurance group which has a presence in more than 100 further countries. The international insurance programmes of HDI-Gerling take into account the needs of a client’s parent company as well as its establishments abroad. The standard service under the programme includes individual consultation, on-site damage and risk management, and issuing of local insurance policies in any country of the world.
